Subaru Indonesia Shines at Indonesia's Biggest Time Attack Event: JDM Run Mandalika Time Attack 2024 at Mandalika Circuit!

Lombok, May 1, 2024 – Today, Subaru Indonesia became the technical partner of Indonesia's largest Time Attack event, organized by the JDM Run community at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit. This event featured 91 starters from all over Indonesia in a hot lap time recording format approved and directly supervised by the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI). The event received full support from InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), and the local government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) with the presence of the Acting Governor of NTB, Mr. Lalu Gita Ariadi.
Arie Christopher, Chief Executive Officer of Subaru Indonesia, said, "The enthusiasm of Subaru owners at the JDM Run Mandalika Time Attack 2024 event is very high. More than 25% of the 91 starters used cars from the Subaru brand, and this makes us feel responsible to ensure Subaru owners can push their vehicles to their best performance in line with Subaru's brand promise of Enjoyment and Peace of Mind. Therefore, we collaborated with the JDM Run community organizers to become the technical partner for Indonesia's largest Time Attack event. We are also quite pleased with the results achieved by one of the Subaru BRZ owners, who recorded a competitive time with a 2.4L N/A engine, clocking a lap time of 1:59."
The JDM Run Mandalika Time Attack 2024 event is an almost annual event organized by the JDM car enthusiast community known as JDM Run (Instagram @jdm.run). With members spread across Indonesia, this year's best time-recording format event was held at Indonesia's pride Moto GP Circuit, Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit. In this event, the fastest time was recorded by a 3.8L V6 Twin-Turbo vehicle with a hot lap time of 1:42.
Each participant will be grouped based on their driving experience and the type of vehicle used. Participants will be divided into three categories based on experience: Non-Experienced, Experienced, and Pro. Meanwhile, the vehicles will be divided into three classes: Standard Class, Street Class, and Race Class. With this division, each participant will have the opportunity to compete in a group that matches their abilities, creating fair and exciting competition.
The Time Attack format presented is designed to be friendly for participants who do not have car racing experience. However, the format will still be challenging for experienced participants.
"Through this class division, each participant is expected to experience the same excitement despite differences in driving skills and vehicle specifications, as essentially, each participant will strive to achieve their own Personal Best Lap. I believe this event will also have a positive impact on sports tourism in Lombok," said Yahya Adi Nugroho, Chairman of the JDM Funday Mandalika 2024, in an official statement.
More than 20 participants from the Subaru Indonesia Club community participated in Indonesia's largest Time Attack event. They came from Semarang, Surabaya, Bandung, and Jakarta. High-performance vehicles such as the Subaru WRX STI from various generations, Subaru BRZ, and the latest line of vehicles marketed by Plaza Subaru were present at this prestigious event.
